The Cape Carteret Police Department works in partnership with the community to prevent crime, protect life and property, and ensure the safety of those living in and visiting Cape Carteret.
The Cape Carteret Police Department strives to develop positive relationships with our businesses and residents, perform proactive patrol activities throughout the community, respond to calls for service as quickly and safely as possible, and deliver high quality Police services in an effective, professional manner.
A staff of 7 full-time sworn officers serve the community 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with additional assistance from nearby law enforcement agencies as necessary. The department includes a Police Chief, Police Lieutenant, Investigator, School Resource Officer, and 3 patrol officers.
