Military Banner Program

Military banners will be displayed on utility poles within the Town of Cape Carteret. The veteran’s picture will be on both sides of the banner, along with name, rank, and branch of service. Banners will be displayed from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. The cost for 1 ‐ 24” X 36” double sided banner and 1 - 12”x18” replica yard banner is $140.00. The fee includes mounting hardware and the installation cost for the banners. Those pictured will also be featured on the Military Tribute Website (TroopBanners.com/CapeCarteret) Additional 12” X 18” replica yard banners are available after the initial purchase at $20.00 each any time - as the original will always be available. The Town of Cape Carteret will continue to display banners for as long as they remain in good condition. The Town will make an effort to remove banners before a forecasted hurricane or tropical event to the greatest extent possible. If a banner becomes damaged, is lost, stolen, or otherwise rendered unusable as a result of an act of God or any other unforeseen circumstance or as a result of normal aging and deterioration then the applicant will be asked to cover the replacement cost in the amount of $85.

Veteran Criteria include those on active duty in any armed service, an honorably discharged veteran, during wartime or peacetime, and those who gave their lives for their country.
