Town Parks

The Town offers 10 water access parks and 4 other parks for our residents to enjoy year-round, and the Town continues to work to improve these facilities in the future.

Water access parks are located at the following street ends along Bogue Sound:

  • Bonita Street
  • Manatee Street
  • Dolphin Street
  • Anita Fort Drive
  • Holly Lane
  • Bogue Sound Drive
  • Bayshore Drive, and
  • Easy Street.

In addition, Ferry Landing Park is located at the end of Lejeune Road, and is the Town's largest waterfront park on Bogue Sound.

These water access parks are limited to use by Cape Carteret residents and property owners only, and residents and property owners can secure a parking decal for Town parks by visiting Town Hall or via this website.

The Town also offers a kayak launching facility on Pettiford Creek (located off NC 58 north of Taylor Notion Road).  This facility is not limited to Cape Carteret residents and property owners only, and may be utilized by everyone interested in kayaking or just enjoying the scenery.

The Town's Community Park is located behind Town Hall on Dolphin Street, and includes a large grassy area, concert stage, and gazebo utilized for festivals and concerts.

Small neighborhood parks are located on Bahia Lane and Quailwood Circle, and the Town is also working to add park amenities at Taylor Notion Road Park in front of the Town's Public Works facility in the future.
