The mission of the Cape Carteret Police Department is to work within the community to prevent crime, protect life and property, and ensure the safe living of all citizens therein. We shall emphasize a proactive response towards resident’s fear of crime and victimization and work to provide simple, straightforward methods to effect systematic improvements in the delivery of our services. We will respect and protect the rights and dignity of all persons and conduct all citizen contact with courtesy and compassion. We shall strive on a daily basis to improve interaction between citizens and police. We shall continue to develop police strategies based on interagency cooperation, information sharing, and national, state, and local research findings.
