POSITION: FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will have to complete a pre-hire process that will include a medical examination, and psychological examination. All candidates must complete the department’s field training program.
All applicants must be eligible for immediate certification with N.C. Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission and possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license at the time of appointment. Applicants with previous law enforcement experience, advanced education or advanced training in criminal justice or related field are preferred.

POSITION: PART-TIME SRO POLICE OFFICER (posted 9.21.2022)
SALARY: Up to $21 an hour
DUTIES: The Town of Cape Carteret is currently accepting applications for two Part-time Police Officers. Cape Carteret Police Department provides an on-campus School Resource Officer for White Oak Elementary, which currently has around 780 students. The duties include performing normal SRO duties, assuring that the campus is secured, interacting with the students, and conducting traffic at the beginning and end of each school day.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will have to complete a pre-hire process that will include a medical examination, and psychological examination. All candidates must have a general certification with N.C. Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission, possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license, and complete the mandated SRO School required by the State of NC. Applicants with previous law enforcement experience, advanced education or advanced training in criminal justice or related field are preferred.

DUTIES: The Town of Cape Carteret is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Police Officer. The Police Department provides police services 24 hours a day 7 days a week to more than 2,200 full time residents and a population that increases during the vacation season to include part time residents and visitors from across the country. Part-time employees are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per month.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will have to complete a background investigation and a pre-hiring process that will include a medical examination, and psychological examination. All candidates must successfully complete the department’s field training program before being eligible to work as a solo officer.
All applicants must be eligible for immediate certification with N.C. Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission and possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license at the time of appointment.
