POSITION: PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER
SALARY: $15.45/hr.
DUTIES: The Town of Cape Carteret is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Police Officer. The Police Department provides police services to more than 2,200 residents and a population that increases during the vacation season to include part time residents and visitors from across the country. The department is very involved in community activities and hosts one of the oldest Community Watch programs in the State of North Carolina.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will have to complete a pre-hire process that will include a medical examination, psychological examination, and the successful completion of North Carolina’s police officer’s physical abilities test (POPAT). All candidates must complete the department’s field training program.
All applicants must be eligible for immediate certification with N.C. Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission and possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license at the time of appointment. Applicants with previous law enforcement experience, advanced education or advanced training in criminal justice or related field are preferred.
